A large number of people are investing in air purifiers now days. But more than 80% buyers do not really know how to choose and believe the articles written by journoulists who have actually got paid to write them and thus the content is totally baised favouring a brand.
As a buyer you need to take into account, that we in India deal with multiple problems in the Air, ranging from Dust to Toxic Gases and Lack of Freshness in the city air.

We have a logic for why you need these different filters and we have more filters than others in the market cause they are directly imported and not made for India like we do.
There are some companies that have now started showing 8 stages or even 9 stages in their catalog, but when you open the machine it turns out to be all lie and many customers do not even take a look at the inside cause of the reputation of the brand behind those claims.
The original and the most suitable 7 filter technology is :-
- A Pre-Filter is most necessary in Indian Environment where the air has large particulate matter and heavy pollutants. Pre-filters suck in and filter out larger particles that could otherwise choke the HEPA filter. Pre-filters need to be washable for life.
- Some machines also use the more expensive ESP (electro static plasma filter) to take care of small dust, ash, allergens, pollens etc. Also a washable filter, it adds life to the HEPA & CARBON filters.
- A combination of a good HEPA (high efficiency particulate arrester) filter &
- A sound Carbon Filter is crucial for an efficient air purifier. We are using a H13 grade of HEPA and thick Carbon Filter with Coconut Shell.
- A new technology in form of Photo-Catalytic Oxidation combination of UV &
- TiO2, which is a FDA approved for use in air purifiers, reduces the microbial (bacteria, virus, dust mites) and chemical (Toxic Gases like amonia, formaldehyde etc) load. This is a technology defrentiator with CRUSADERS AIR PURIFIER.
- Then is the Ioniser, some call it plasmacluster ions, some vita ions, some nano-e. The end result is the same and the objective is the same. ANIONS are essential for the wellbieg of our body and they are directly related to our immunity. It makes the body strong if good ions are taken. When the amount of Negative Electric Ions contained in one CC of air reached 100,000 to 500,000, it relieves illnesses.
Negative ions are odorless, tasteless, and invisible molecules that we inhale in abundance in certain environments. Think mountains, waterfalls, and beaches.
COMMON MYTHS AND FACTS
Common MYTHS being floated in the market are related to AIR PURIFIERS producing OZONE, through the use of Ions and UV.
Those who claim that Ionisers produces OZONE, have never studied the science and are just creating anti-information to mislead the people due to vested commercial interests.
Ionization used in AIR PURIFIERS does not produce Ozone as they are being fed a very low voltage, just enough to create a negative charge (which is important for the human body)
UV-C at 254nm wavelenghts are used in AIR PURIFIERS is used for the sanitation of HEPA through the UV+TiO2 Photo-Catalytic Oxidation technology. This is as per the DGHS guidelines for use of HEPA filters.
HEPA alone is not the final solution for all the problems of pollution, even the DGHS guildlines sates that HEPA is just a trap and will become a breeding ground for the microbes if UVGI technology is not used to sanitize the HEPA. So you need a HEPA based product but a lot more along with it.
Another term often used to confuse you will be CADR, which means CLEAN AIR DELIVERY RATE. Now CADR is different for every machine. And specially if you are using 6-7 layers of filters the CADR value will be low cause of more resistance.
But your efficiency will be very high. CADR is depening on the quality of filters and the motor.
Same motor capacity with H11 HEPA = Higher CADR but only till 1 micron
Same motor capacity with H13 HEPA = Little Lower CADR (due to more resistance of material) but can do 0.3 micron.
At the end, it will depend on whether you are buying a product designed for India and taking care of the complete problems or just products dumped in India which were never designed for this range of pollution.
